NET4GAS – General partner of the Revitalisation of Peat Bogs in the Ore Mountains (Krušné hory)

The aim of the Revitalisation of the Peat Bogs in the Ore Mountains project, carried out since 2009 by the civic association DAPHNE ČR - Institute of Applied Ecology thanks to the support of NET4GAS is to restore the original peat bog eco-systems as a significant part of nature in the Ore Mountains. These are the areas that had been affected by negative impacts, both of the industry and planting measures. Thanks to terminated function of drainage systems, the growth of bog moss and small shrubs will return to these areas in a couple of following years. The new conditions will also significantly improve the condition of rare species biotope, e.g. that of black grouse, which is currently on the edge of extinction in the nature.
